Roses Climbing on my Drawer -a yesterday blog entry-

-I was supposed to upload this yesterday but I didn't cause it was impossible to take pics with no natural light.-

Today was an overly creative day and for that I am happy. I finished an illustration, I successfully made sweet and sour sauce (1st time ever) and also painted my drawer, something I've been intending to do for a year.

Also today, the center of Athens is burning (again) and for that I am not so happy. Well, perhaps I am slightly happy about the burning and the chaos (In Athens the x-mas spirit comes along with the smoke of fire and tear gas, so why break this wonderful tradition that illustrates how pleased the citizens are with the government and the police forces?). Just hoping no one will get hurt.

Pics of my drawer and process. (They came out a bit blury in parts, sorry about that!)

Using acrylic paint on wood. Starting with the ivy, then painting leafs. Surprisingly enough it smells like tear gas out in the balcony although I don't live that close to the center.

Starting to paint the roses. First shadows then highlights.

Painting small white flowers and more highlights on the roses and ivy. Done!

Εφημερίδα Τα ΝΕΑ / Έλληνες Υπερήρωες or so we were told

Illustration for Greek Newspaper "Τα ΝΕΑ". I was supposed to draw a Greek superhero, but knowing it would be somehow connected to the economic crisis, I decided to draw a guy without any real superpowers, with simply the ability to ignore the media/government propaganda and try to build a better future for himself.

Μας ζήτησαν να φτιάξουμε Έλληνες υπερήρωες οι οποίοι "δεν θα σχετιζόντουσαν απαραίτητα με την κρίση". Ο τίτλος τελικά ήταν "Οι Υπερήρωες που θα μας σώσουν απ'την κρίση" ή κάτι τέτοιο. Μαλακία. Ο Τάσος Μαραγκός το περιγράφει καλύτερα στο blog του "Πρώτον, αυτό που μου ζητήθηκε να κάνω, αν θέλω φυσικά αφού τέτοιες δουλειές δεν πληρώνονται, ήταν να σχεδιάσω τον σύγχρονο Έλληνα υπέρ-ήρωα. Έτσι απλά. Όχι τον υπέρ-ήρωα που θα σώσει την Ελλάδα από την κρίση. Αν μου είχε ζητηθεί κάτι τέτοιο θα είχα σχεδιάσει κάτι πολύ διαφορετικό ή ,το πιο πιθανό, θα είχα αρνηθεί τη συμμετοχή μου. Επομένως, όταν σχεδίαζα τον Έλλην Μικροαστό, δεν τον είχα στο μυαλό μου ως την διέξοδο από την κρίση ούτε ότι θα σώσει την Ελλάδα όπως μου χρεώνουν στην εφημερίδα. Πως γίνεται να σώσει την Ελλάδα αυτός που είναι ο κυριότερος λόγος που δεν δοκιμάζει καν να σωθεί αυτή η χώρα;".

Ευτυχώς επειδή υποπτευόμουν ότι κάτι θα πήγαινε στραβά έφτιαξα αυτόν οπότε ήμουν on the safe side...

Περιοδικό ΔΙΑΒΑΖΩ, "Book in a Frame"

The first comic of my new comic book series "Book in a Frame" for diavazo (διαβάζω) magazine.

"Book in a Frame" είναι ο τίτλος της καινούργιας σειράς κόμικ που ξεκίνησα για το περιοδικό διαβάζω. Το περιοδικό έχει ανανεωθεί από πλευράς ύλης και αισθητικής και στα πλαίσια της παρουσίασης νέων και παλιότερων βιβλίων με πιο εναλλακτικούς τρόπους, γεννήθηκε η ιδέα κόμικ το οποίο θα παρουσιάζει ένα διαφορετικό βιβλίο κάθε φορά.

Στο τεύχος του Σεπτεμβρίου, θα βρείτε το πρώτο κόμικ της σειράς, εμπνευσμένο από το "Οι Άθλιοι του Παρισιού και του Λονδίνου" του Τζορτζ Όργουελ.

Just came back from the island of Thirasia, were I spent a week doing comic book workshops for kids in collaboration with Comicdom Press and the domestic non profit organization “Diadrasis” through the program “Agoni Grammi Gonimi”. A month ago I went to Tinos for the same reason. Amazing experience, the best I can do is post some pictures!

I think I'll split the pics and post them in different blog entries, because there's really a lot f them.

Comicdom Con 2011 and a Thousand Links

I confess it's been a while since my last blog entry but it's been kind of hectic and there were so many things I wanted to blog about, that in the end I didn't blog at all.

I went to Tinos to run comic workshops with kids and had a great time. More about this in another blog entry, when at last I'll have all the pictures.

I finished my children's book "Princess Rosette". Here's the cover.

I've also been working on a couple of book covers and translating Night of Falling Skies in Greek. cover synopsis It's almost ready. Pity I missed this years con, but hopefully I will not wait until next year.

This has been a week that was freezing, (perhaps colder inside my apartment than outside), that I have not been doing much other than working and being cold and grumpy and that I nearly finished the children's book I've been working on. Comicdom Con http://www.comicdom-con.gr/ is in about a month and I haven't finished translating my graphic novel "Night of Falling Skies" in Greek, so unfortunately it's not going to be out on the con. On the bright side, "Σύνδρομο #4" http://www.comicdom.gr/2010/09/26/alexia-othonaiou-syndrome-4/ will be out on the con (written by Ilias Katirtzigianoglou and illustrated by me).

Picture I drew today from "Princess Rosette". I didn't feel my left arm the biggest part of the day cause of the cold. Tomorrow I'll work on cover and polish previous illustrations.

The Peacock King kissed the Princess, they f@cked like bunnies and then they lived happily ever after.

Also, I think I'm developing a legwarmer fetish. This is my 5th pair of legwarmers and I really like it.

I think this is going to be a great weekend for staying in, eating soups and drinking hot tea and chocolate, watching movies and reading.

It's been tough to get into the Xmas mood with all the global poverty, pain and misery going on. I really didn't feel like drawing Xmas trees, presents, cozy homes, fireplaces, cute animals.

So voila. My Xmas card for this year. Watercolor on paper and collage on photoshop.

Yep. Bar, smoke, longing. And snow. Still a little cozy, no?

The Christmas Spirit strikes again

And when you are just about to abandon the whole Christmas-Spirit-thing this year because it's hot, it's raining tear gas and you (and everyone else) don't have money to buy anyone anything, it's starts snowing in the Center of Athens.

And it's 1:30 p.m. and you are tipsy and cold and on your way home and you aren't even sure it's really snow. But it is. People texted me saying that it's actually snowing. Radio Bubble (bar just across the street) just tweeted that "You order scotch and you get snowflakes".

Good thing is, my Christmas tree now doesn't seem completely out of context. I even have some really surreal stuff hanging off it, that a couple of friends helped me make.

The Knifer Film & Exhibition

An exhibition about the new film of Gianis Ikonomidis "Knifer". 13 comic artists will take part in the exhibition which will be held at the Attikon and Apollon cinemas and also be featured in tomorrows issue of Lifo.

Here's what I did.

Welcome back everyone! Summer is officially over and I hope you had a great time.

I on the other side feel already tired, coming back from Crete last week and having to work on three projects simultaneously and move house at the same time. By the way: IKEA stuff is not easy to set up and definitely not easy to carry. I need holidays. Again. Bummer.

(the following is for Greek-speakers only. Sorry. Can't really be translated)

Αγαπητοί και αγαπητές, θα σας ευχηθώ καλό φθινόπωρο με μια μαντινάδα που γράψαμε με τις αγαπητές συνταξιδιώτισες Μυρτώ, Δήμητρα και Ηλέκτρα στο πλοίο καθώς επιστρέφαμε από την Κρήτη.

ΑΖΟΡ (Η δεμένη μαύρη γάτα)

Εδώ στην Κρήτη που 'ρθαμε
η γκαντεμιά αλωνίζει
όλα μας έχουνε συμβεί
μόνο που δε χιονίζει.

Η γκαντεμιά μας έκρουσε
μπάτσους, φωτιές καλούμε
μέχρι και στην πανσέληνο
βατράχια θα λουστούμε.

Με μπάτσους στο κεδρόδασος
κι αέρηδες στη Σούγια
ποτέ τους δεν πτοήθηκαν
τ’ αφράτα κοριτσούδια.

Πέντε κορίτσια κίνησαν
έξι μετά γινήκαν
οι δύο αυτομόλησαν
τη φάση μυριστήκαν.

Στη μέση του κεδρόδασους
τρεις νέους ανταμώσαν
και γρήγορα αποφάσισαν
τις γκαντεμιές ενώσαν.

Οι τρεις τα πόδια σκίσανε
δυο φάρμακα μπουκώσαν
ως και της Δημητρούλας μας
οι σιάγονες κλειδώσαν.

Στη Γαύδο που ελπίζανε
η τύχη να φτιαχνόταν
μποφόρια σηκωθήκανε
ενώ «δεν του φαινόταν!».

Καιγόταν το Ροδάκινο
η θύελλα μαινόταν
κι η Ηλέκτρα στην αιώρα της
ανέμελη κοιμόταν.

Κι ο Σπύρος κι ο Ιάσονας
που ψάχναν τη βολή τους
τη γκαντεμιά κολλήσανε
και σκίστηκε η σκηνή τους.

Ενώ αέρας τις μαστίγωνε
αλύπητα στη Σούγια
το Θεοφάνη είδανε
και είπαν αλληλούια.

Καρέκλες επετάγανε
κονσέρβες αιωρούνταν
σκηνές, αιώρες σπάγανε
κανένα δε λυπούνταν.

Συνέλευση εκάμανε
ευθύς τα κοριτσούδια
πού το κορμί θα γύρουνε
τη νύχτα αυτή στη Σούγια.

Απάγκιο αναζητήσανε
στου Μιχαλιού τον τόπο
για λίγο ηρεμήσανε
μα χέσιμο με κόπο.

Κάποιες αναζητήσανε
αλλιώτικη λεκάνη
στο καφενείο επήγανε
μα έμοιαζε με στάνη.

Και μια και δυο εκίνησαν
στη Ντίσκο καταλύσαν
στην έμορφη καβάντζα τους
τη γκαντεμιά τους λύσαν.

Και 'κει που περιμένανε
Πανσέληνο να βρούνε
σαν προβολέας έσκασε
κι άντε να κοιμηθούνε.

Μετά όσα περάσανε
το φυσάν και δεν κρυώνει…
Μπάτσοι, γουρούνια, δολοφόνοι.

Haven't written anything for a while...

I've been very busy, working on a couple of different projects and trying to finish everything on time, in order to spend some time in a sunny beach somewhere in Greece, far away from busy streets, cars, noisy drillers, deadlines, furious peasants in variable stages of desperation (not that I can blame them), cab drivers, cement, computers and the "crisis".

I'm not complaining, the projects I've been working on are great, but I need some time off. Here's a taste of what I've been doing.

Two weeks after the Comicdom Con...I had a great time as usual and after it was over it took me a week to recover. Even now that I did recover, I still have to force myself to work since the weather is amazing and warm and all I want to do is sit outside and do stuff with friends.

Since it's Monday, officially the worst day of the week, I'll start my day uploading pictures from the con and remembering how great it was. All thanks to the Comicdom team...

So...Spiros D and myself before the begining of the festival. We spent a couple of hours putting the postcards we made for the first 100 Bleeding Hearts issues into red envellopes and sticking them into the books. We really aren't as happy as we seem.

Bleeding Hearts Signing (4 great pics by Aris Malandranis). I was so tired after the signing on Saturday (the fact that it was hot as hell didn't help), that I went to the canteen and slept for about 14 minutes.

Έχω να δηλώσω πως έχω δει πολλές φορές το "Φρίντα". Πως η Καλομοίρα αύριο βγάζει στα ράδια το καινούργιο της τραγούδι στου οποίου το βιντεοκλίπ, στο ρεφρέν "Don't break my heart, don't leave me alone" (η κάτι τέτοιο) πιάνει τα γεννητικά της όργανα με νόημα. Και ξανά και ξανά. Και κάτι τύποι γύρω της χοροπηδούν σαν μαιμούδες. Δεν ανησυχώ σχετικά με το ΔΝΤ γιατί δεν μπορεί, θα αντέξουμε δύο χρονάκια ακόμα μέχρι το 2012 που θα πεθάνουμε από φυσικά αίτια. Τέλος, έχω να πω πως μπορούμε να ενισχύσουμε την οικονομία μας εξάγοντας δημόσιους υπαλλήλους.

Στην περίπτωση που αναρωτιέστε, δεν είμαι high, το ότι γύρισα από Ολλανδία πριν δύο βδομάδες είναι άσχετο . Είμαι high on zapping.

Σηματάκι που έφτιαξα επειδή μου το ζήτησε ένας φίλος.

Υ.Γ. Πέρασε μια βδομάδα από το comicdom con, μαζεύω ακόμα σχέδια και φωτογραφίες για να τα ανεβάσω όλα μαζί εδώ.

Οι σελίδες της σειράς Bleeding Hearts που συνδημιουργούσα με τον Σπύρο Δερβενιώτη για περίπου δύο χρόνια για το περιοδικό Γκραν Γκινιόλ, αυξήθηκαν επικίνδυνα και έγιναν ένα 64σέλιδο άλμπουμ.

‘Ετοιμο, ζεστό και αχνιστό απ’ το τυπογραφείο επιτέλους, θα πρωτοπαρουσιαστεί στο comicdom con αυτό το Σαββατοκύριακο.

Ρε παιδιά, τι πράγμα είναι αυτό με τα δακρυγόνα;

Πέρασα σήμερα από εξάρχεια και από κάποια ώρα και μετά ένιωθα εξαντλημένη, έτσουζαν τα μάτια μου και είχα ταχυπαλμία χωρίς να ξέρω γιατί. Πολύ αργότερα θυμήθηκα τα δακρυγόνα και έκανα τη σύνδεση.

Δεν τα φτιάχνουν όπως παλιά...

Έλεος πια με αυτή την τρομοκρατία.

Αφήστε και το άλλο...Κάθε φορά που βγαίνω απ'το σπίτι, αναγκάζομαι να παίρνω μαζί ολόκληρο sack voyage. Δεν έφτανε να κουβαλάω μαζί λαπτοπ, γραφίδες, πορτοφόλια, τσιγάρα και κλειδιά, τώρα έχω και ένα σωρό άλλα πράγματα. Απολυμαντικό μπουκαλάκι για τις ιώσεις (που μας έχουν κάνει πλύση εγκεφάλου πως κυκλοφορούνε), μια πλαστική σακούλα για να βάζω μέσα τις αποδείξεις (γιατί αλλιώς τις πετάω από συνήθεια), μαντίλι για τα δακρυγόνα (δεν ξέρεις ποτέ που μπορεί να τους βιδώσει να τα ρίξουνε) οδοντόβουρτσα και έξτρα εσώρουχα γιατί εσύ έφυγες απ'το σπίτι μεν, αλλά θα καταφέρεις να γυρίσεις, δε; Ξαφνικά συνειδητοποιείς οτι δεν έχει συγκοινωνίες (πάλι) και το έχεις ξεχάσει. Αναγκαστικά διανυκτερεύεις σε φιλικό σπίτι. Να μην έχεις να αλλάξεις;

Όπως έλεγε και ο Ντίνος Ηλιόπουλος "Ωραία παρέα είμαστε! Μια ευχάριστη ατμόσφαιρα..."

Yes, I've got a black eye. No, my husbant doesn't beat me. I actually don't have a husbant. What I do have, is a dog. A big, stupid, clumsy dog that shows his affection by jumping on me. Last time he did that (propably the last time EVER) his huge muzzle ended up in my eye. Yes. Ouch indeed.

I think that's the last thing I saw before everything went dark.

Back to the drawing board drawing Bleeding Hearts and doing website stuff at the same time. Actually I've been occupying my mind so much with ftp, dns, sql an' all, that yesterday I was having a chat with someone about love and relationships and I said something like "...yeah, you need to trust someone in order to love him...blah blah...if you don't, there's this firewall made of insecurities between you which blah blah...". Firewall. God.

Apart from that, I'm doing Christmas window decoration for a couple of shops, I"ll post some pics after the windows have been set.

It was great being in the festival in Lodz, meeting some really great people, seeing what Polish comics look like and getting to see Poland. And figuring out how strong the Polish vodka is, of course. I just hope I could have had more time to see more of Poland.

Στις 16 Μαρτίου, γίνεται η παρουσίαση του βιβλίου του Γιώργου Χατζηστεργίου "Σου έχει μείνει καθόλου περιουσία;" (εκδόσεις Αλεξάνδρεια, link). Έχω σχεδιάσει το εξώφυλλο, καθώς και μερικές εικόνες για το εσωτερικό. Το βιβλίο ειναι εξαιρετικό κατά τη γνώμη μου και σχεδόν προφητικό, λαμβάνοντας υπόψιν την παρούσα κοινωνική και οικονομική κατάσταση της χωρας μας:

"Ενώ η Ελλάδα μαστίζεται από μία πρωτοφανή κρίση και οι άνθρωποι αρχίζουν να φοβούνται στ' αλήθεια μήπως κατρακυλήσουν από τον παράδεισο της μικρομεσαίας ευημερίας στην κόλαση της φτώχειας, μια Νέα Μεγάλη Ιδέα σκάει ξαφνικά και διαδίδεται σαν τη σπίθα που βάζει φωτιά στον ξερό κάμπο: για να ξανάρθουν τα λεφτά, οι Έλληνες θα γκρεμίσουν τα σπίτια και τα μαγαζιά τους, τις εκκλησίες και τα γήπεδα, πρώτα στην Αθήνα κι έπειτα σε ολόκληρη τη χώρα, για να τα ξαναχτίσουν από την αρχή - όπως έγινε μετά τον Πόλεμο!

Στη δίνη της στροβιλίζονται πολλές μικρότερες ιδέες, όνειρα και επιδιώξεις: ο πρωθυπουργός θέλει να μείνει στην Ιστορία, η Υπουργός Καθαριότητας να γίνει πάμπλουτη, ο πρωθυπουργικός σύμβουλος να δοξαστεί - ενώ η κοπέλα του πολύ θα ήθελε να γνωρίσει έναν άλλον, έναν πραγματικό άντρα...

Στην κορύφωση των εξελίξεων, ο πρωθυπουργός απευθύνεται σε μια λαοθάλασσα στην Πλατεία Συντάγματος και αναγγέλλει το βομβαρδισμό της Αθήνας από την Πολεμική Αεροπορία ενόψει της Νέας Ανοικοδόμησης. Έτσι ανοίγει διάπλατα ο δρόμος προς ένα μέλλον όπου η πραγματικότητα μπλέκει επικίνδυνα με τη φαντασία και απ' όπου θα προκύψει μια Ελλάδα τόσο καινούρια, που μόνο τα σύνορα θα θυμίζουν την παλιά."

Η συνεργασία με τον συγγραφέα τον οποίο μέχρι τότε δεν γνώριζα, ήταν ιδανική και νομίζω πως θα γίνει σημείο αναφοράς για όλες τις μελλοντικές μου συνεργασίες. : )

It's nice to see snow again! It has the tendency to cover everything, no matter how flawed and ugly, with it's bright, white, soft texture and make it look like Christmas morning. Here's some pics shot by me and several of my Malden Hall inmat...I meant flatmates. : )

p.s. I thought that only in a third world country like Greece everything paralyzes when the weather goes extreme. Well, nope, it happens in the other countries ass well.

I decided to eventually break my silence and wish everyone a happy new year!

Truth is I wasn't really in a festive mood, so writing dark gloomy journals would just ruin it for everyone else too. Im glad 2008 is gone, it was a good year in terms of creativity, I started some new collaborations, made some images I really like, but in a personal level it was a really tough year. There were of course good moments, but the bad things that happened kind of shaded everything else. I wish this year is more joyful and light, and I wish mental and physical health and creativity to everyone!

Lately I was working on some uni project about modern gods and godesses. The Christmas windows I made for the Sarafis shops around Greece actually looked kinda cool, unfortunately I don't have any pictures. The novel I illustrated came out but hasn't be presented yet, I"ll say more about it soon. Last but not least, Spuros D. and I are collaborating for a story for this year's Vavel exhibition. I'm copying and pasting this from Spyros Derveniotis journal, unfortunately i'ts in Greek but the exhibition is happening in Greece anyway.

"Aναρωτιόμουν πότε είναι η κατάλληλη στιγμή για να ενημερώσω για το Φεστιβάλ της Βαβέλ, που θα γίνει (τελικά) την άλλη βδομάδα, 22-25 Ιανουαρίου στην γνωστή έδρα του, στην Τεχνόπολη στο Γκάζι.

Δεδομένου ότι το θέμα του φεστιβάλ φέτος είναι ο αριθμός “13″ (Οσα και τα χρόνια του), η σημερινή Τρίτη και 13 μου φαίνεται η κατάλληλη ημερομηνία.

Για όλες τις λεπτομέρεις για events, καλεσμένους και θεματικές εκθέσεις, πηγαίνετε στο κατατοπιστικότατο site εδώ.

Κι από μένα τι να περιμένετε να δείτε;

Κατ’ αρχήν το προς έκθεσην έργο, θα είναι ελαφρώς interactive (εχετε δίκιο, κι εγώ σιχαίνομαι αυτές τις artsy λέξεις).

Κατα δεύτερον είναι εξαιρετικά ‘μοβόρο και βίαιο, ή κατα την επίσημη ορολογία “καφρίλα”.Φτιάχτηκε σε συνεργασία με την Αλέξια Οθωναίου και το premise πάνω κάτω έχει ως εξής:

Διαιωνίζοντας μια ανορθολογική παράδοση που θέλει τον αριθμό 13 γρουσούζικο, πολλά ξενοδοχεία επιλέγουν απλά να εξαφανίσουν τον αντίστοιχο όροφο.Μεσοβέζικες λύσεις επιστρατεύονται, όπως «όροφος 12α», «όροφος XIII” ή απλά όροφος 14 κατ’ ευθείαν μετά τον 12, χωρίς περαιτέρω εξηγήσεις.

Εμείς προσφέρουμε οχτώ κλειστές πόρτες του επίμαχου «ανύπαρκτου» ορόφου. Εσύ πόσες θα τολμήσεις να ανοίξεις;

Σας αναμένω να περιεργαστείτε το αρρωστίδι από κοντά."

Όλο ακούω απο γονείς και φίλους για την κατάσταση που επικρατεί στην Αθήνα, ο καθένας μου δίνει αρκετά διαφορετική αίσθηση για το τι συμβαίνει. Μάλλον θα πρέπει να δω για τον εαυτό μου όταν επιστρέψω.

Τα μπάχαλα αργά η γρήγορα θα τελειώσουν, θα γίνουν και μερικές συλλήψεις, ο κόσμος θα γκρινιάζει ακόμα για τις βιτρίνες και τα μαγαζιά και πως δεν μπορεί πια να πάει τα παιδιά του να δουν το δέντρο στο σύνταγμα, και όσοι πήραν μέρος ενεργά στα επεισόδια θα λένε πως τα χειρότερα μπάχαλα τα κάνανε τα ματ και τα φιλαράκια τους αλλά ποιός θα τους πιστεύει.
Εμένα με ανησυχεί το μετά, που θα μας οδηγήσουν όλα αυτά, επιστροφή δεν υπάρχει, και αυτό που σίγουρα μας έδειξαν τα επεισόδια είναι πως ο κόσμος έχει φτάσει σε ακραία σημεία αγανάκτισης. Αναρωτιέμαι πως θα καταλήξει η πολιτική κατάσταση (ας πούμε στις τελευταίες εκλογές μετά απο τις φωτιές μου φαινόταν αδιανόητο πως θα υπήρχε κόσμος που θα ψήφιζε τα ίδια ξανά, αλλά little did I know) και το πόσο και μέχρι ποιο σημείο θα τραβήξει η οικονομική παρακμή. Πάντως μετά απο τα επεισόδια μπορώ να φανταστώ καλά σενάρια όπως για παράδειγμα έγινε το Μάη του '68 στη Γαλλία που βλέπω αρκετά κοινά στους λόγους της "επανάστασης" όπως και στο πως εκδηλώθηκε. Τα κακά σενάρια που μπορώ να σκεφτώ φτάνουν μέχρι οικονομική εξαθλίωση, και γενικό χάος με πολύ βία, θυμό και απόλυτη ανικανότητα των ΜΜΕ να δώσουν στον κόσμο μια πραγματική εικόνα με συνέπεια ακόμα μεγαλύτερο χάος. Ένα απο τα πράματα που με τρομάζουν είναι η ψυχολογία του όχλου, και το τι μπορεί να συμβεί όταν χάνεις τον εαυτό σου και τα όρια σου μέσα του. Και αυτό ισχύει για όλες τις παρατάξεις.

Αυτό που με θλίβει απίστευτα είναι πως η γενιά μου έχει σαφώς απομακρυνθεί πολύ απο αυτά που έχουν σημασία και οι αξίες και τα ιδανικά της είναι διάχυτα, και αυτό έχει να κάνει μεταξύ άλλων με το οτι δεν έχουμε περάσει ούτε χούντες, ούτε πολέμους, τα είχαμε όλα έτοιμα και λυμμένα και ψάχναμε για τα παραπάνω. Ξέρετε πόσες φορές έχω ακούσει το "Εσείς είστε τόσο τυχεροί σαν γενιά που δεν έχετε περάσει αυτά που 'χουμε περάσει εμείς" ε λοιπόν όχι δεν θεωρώ πως είμαστε καθόλου "τυχερή" γενιά, έχετε αναρωτηθεί ποτέ τι ακριβώς κάνει στην ψυχολογία μας αυτή η καταστροφολογία που ακούμε απο τα δέκα μας "Ο κόσμος θα καταστραφεί πολύ σύντομα έτσι που πάμε" κλπ κλπ. Δεν είναι τυχαίο που η γενιά μας είναι φουλ στις ψυχολογικές ασθένειες όπως η κατάθλιψη, οι κρίσεις πανικού, οι νευρώσεις κλπ.

"Τι έχεις παιδί μου και νιώθεις θλίψη;"

"Δεν μπορώ να δω μέλλον κυρία ψυχολόγε"

"χμ...ναι, τυπικό σύμπτωμα κατάθλιψης....Νιώθεις μήπως και κόπωση, έχεις ταχυπαλμία και αυπνίες;"

ΠΩΣ περιμένετε να δει μέλλον το παιδί όταν του ταίζετε από τότε που θυμάται τον εαυτό του πως ο κόσμος είναι στην παρακμή του, πως σε λίγο δεν θα χουμε νερό, πετρέλαιο, χώρο στη γη, πως πρέπει να βρούμε βιώσιμο χώρο σε άλλους πλανήτες κλπ. Ξέρετε πως είναι να σαι 25 χρονών και να νιώθεις πως είσαι στο ξεκίνημα της ενήλικης ζωής σου, στα πιο καλά και δημιουργικά σου χρόνια ενώ παράλληλα περπατάς σε έναν κόσμο που κοινή παραδοχή είναι πως παρακμάζει, πως είναι στα τελευταιά του; Πως απο δω και πέρα τα πράγματα δεν θα γίνονται καλύτερα απλά χειρότερα; Ε, εμείς ξέρουμε.

Currently I'm working on a project on children's dreams and nightmares and I started making some 3D stuff with clay for it. It was more fun than I had expected! Great gloomy day for staying in, working a bit, watching movies and blogging....

This story is called "Queen of the night" (that is if Spuros D. doesn't decide to change it) and is done for the "Bleeding Hearts series" for Grand Guignol magazine.

Pencil, pen, gray marker, pentel brush pen, and some cleaning up on photoshop...the usual stuff.
