Truth is I wasn't really in a festive mood, so writing dark gloomy journals would just ruin it for everyone else too. Im glad 2008 is gone, it was a good year in terms of creativity, I started some new collaborations, made some images I really like, but in a personal level it was a really tough year. There were of course good moments, but the bad things that happened kind of shaded everything else. I wish this year is more joyful and light, and I wish mental and physical health and creativity to everyone!
Lately I was working on some uni project about modern gods and godesses. The Christmas windows I made for the Sarafis shops around Greece actually looked kinda cool, unfortunately I don't have any pictures. The novel I illustrated came out but hasn't be presented yet, I"ll say more about it soon. Last but not least, Spuros D. and I are collaborating for a story for this year's Vavel exhibition. I'm copying and pasting this from Spyros Derveniotis journal, unfortunately i'ts in Greek but the exhibition is happening in Greece anyway.
"Aναρωτιόμουν πότε είναι η κατάλληλη στιγμή για να ενημερώσω για το Φεστιβάλ της Βαβέλ, που θα γίνει (τελικά) την άλλη βδομάδα, 22-25 Ιανουαρίου στην γνωστή έδρα του, στην Τεχνόπολη στο Γκάζι.
Δεδομένου ότι το θέμα του φεστιβάλ φέτος είναι ο αριθμός “13″ (Οσα και τα χρόνια του), η σημερινή Τρίτη και 13 μου φαίνεται η κατάλληλη ημερομηνία.

Κατ’ αρχήν το προς έκθεσην έργο, θα είναι ελαφρώς interactive (εχετε δίκιο, κι εγώ σιχαίνομαι αυτές τις artsy λέξεις).
Κατα δεύτερον είναι εξαιρετικά ‘μοβόρο και βίαιο, ή κατα την επίσημη ορολογία “καφρίλα”.Φτιάχτηκε σε συνεργασία με την Αλέξια Οθωναίου και το premise πάνω κάτω έχει ως εξής:
Διαιωνίζοντας μια ανορθολογική παράδοση που θέλει τον αριθμό 13 γρουσούζικο, πολλά ξενοδοχεία επιλέγουν απλά να εξαφανίσουν τον αντίστοιχο όροφο.Μεσοβέζικες λύσεις επιστρατεύονται, όπως «όροφος 12α», «όροφος XIII” ή απλά όροφος 14 κατ’ ευθείαν μετά τον 12, χωρίς περαιτέρω εξηγήσεις.
Εμείς προσφέρουμε οχτώ κλειστές πόρτες του επίμαχου «ανύπαρκτου» ορόφου. Εσύ πόσες θα τολμήσεις να ανοίξεις;
Σας αναμένω να περιεργαστείτε το αρρωστίδι από κοντά."
